SFVT Board Meeting, 2.10.10

Each month the board members of Slow Food Vermont meet to conduct the business of our group. We've been intent on getting things "up and running" so our meetings have been very busy and focused. However, we do begin each meeting with a dinner that is the result of a collaborative effort by all board members . This joining together to share and enjoy delicious food gives us the energy to continue through all of our agenda items.
On February 10th, we met in Essex and had one guest: Rachel Schattman (Local Foods Coordinator at UVM) who came to "listen and learn" and who may have information on some resources that our group could access.
Some of our discussion items:
~Mara shared her discussions with the Vermont Fresh Network and our hope to continue to offer a dual membership with this group.
~Mara shared a tentative schedule for the Intervale Summer of Taste events which are scheduled for Thursday evenings beginning on July 8th at the Intervale Center. Our group will organize foods to be tasted each week.
~Sarah and Jen have been working hard on the membership database and it's in good shape. We'll be contacting former members while we find ways to invite new members to join.
~Pat and Gene are working on a survey that we can share at the NOFA Conference. For instance, we want to find out what events people might be interested in that we could plan. ~Members of our board with be at the SFVT table at the NOFA Conference. Mara will make a presentation on Saturday afternoon, which she shared with us for feedback at this meeting.
~We briefly brainstormed a number of possible events that we could plan for this year. It's an exciting list and we'll be sure to post all of these events on this blog.
~We ended our meeting by planning the next one in March. Stay tuned for more updates.

  1. I just realized that the bios of the board members are on the SFVT website and not on the blog, so if you are confused by the use of first names, you can check out our information on the website (http://slowfoodvermont.org).
